Product Release Notes and Advisories


SaaS vs. Self-Managed Releases

JFrog offers two main hosting models. Each product has its own release cadence for each of these hosting models.

  • SaaS: JFrog products are cloud native, built and developed to run in a SaaS environment. Each product has its own SaaS release cycle.
  • Self-Managed: Self-Managed minor releases typically take place about once a quarter with all the content developed since the previous release included in every new minor release.

JFrog Product Release Cadence

JFrog products are released in different cadences, based on requirements of the product and offered hosting models. The following is basic information on our release cadence. Note this information is for general reference, schedules may differ depending on product needs.

Artifactory - Binary Management

Artifactory is offered in both SaaS and self-managed deployments. SaaS minor versions are generally released every week, with patches as needed. Self-managed minor versions are released quarterly, with planned weekly patches, and additional patches as needed.

Security

Security products are offered in bothg SaaS and self-managed deployments. SaaS minor versions are generally released every other week. With patches as needed. Self-managed minor versions are released quarterly. With patches released daily, as required.

Governance and Lifecycle

AppTrust is offered in both SaaS and self-managed deployments. Although release cadences can vary, SaaS minor versions are generally released every two weeks, with patches as needed, and self-managed minor versions are released twice per year, with patches as needed.

AI - ML

JFrog ML is offered in both SaaS and self-managed deployments. SaaS minor versions receive continuous updates. These enhancements are rolled out as they become available. Self-managed deployments are synchronized with the JFrog Platform release cadence. Occasional updates to your core JFrog Platform services may be required to unlock advanced features

Distribution

Distribution is available with both SaaS and self-managed deployments. SaaS minor versions are released as needed, as are patches. self-managed minor versions are typically released in the weeks following the SaaS release.

Other Release Related Information

For most product, the release notes also lists information for each product, including

  • Security Advisories: JFrog Security Advisories list information about vulnerabilities that have been reported on JFrog products

  • Deprecations: Product deprecations are reported in their related section, while information about deprecations in progress, and overall deprecation information for the platform can be found in Deprecations

  • Known Issues: Issues are reported in the known issues section for each product and updated with a fix version when delivered. You can see the known issues for a specific product by clicking **Known Issues ** in the table of contents under that product

  • End-of-Life: Many products reach end-of-life after 18 months. Check with your relevant product. You can see the end-of-life dates for a specific product by clicking End of Life in the table of contents under that product

  • Fixed Security Vulnerabilities: JFrog tracks known security vulnerabilities related to its offerings. Products might or might not impact operation. You can see the fixed security vulnerabilities for a specific product by clicking fixed security vulnerabilities in the table of contents under that product
