Important Changes
Chocolatey Metadata Retrieval Cache Period Changes
As of Artifactory version 7.153.2, NuGet remote repositories that proxy
community.chocolatey.orghave an enforced minimum Metadata Cache Retrieval Period of four hours (14400 seconds).This change aligns with Chocolately configuration recommendations.
Upcoming Changes to Metadata Cache Retrieval Period
On Artifactory SaaS, remote repositories will have a minimum Metadata Retrieval Cache Period of 30 seconds. Smart remote repositories are exempt from the minimum and may have a value lower than 30 seconds.
The enforced minimum maintains stability, optimizes load, and supports consistent service availability for Agentic workflows.

Artifactory Deprecated Features
This topic contains deprecations currently in progress for Artifactory releases. For the full list of ongoing deprecations, see Deprecations in Process. For a full list of deprecated Artifactory features, see Artifactory Deprecations.
Artifactory Access REST APIs Deprecated and Blocked on SaaS and Self-ManagedAs notified in Artifactory 7.161.5, Artifactory User, Groups, Token, and Permissions management REST API endpoints are being deprecated and replaced with Access REST API endpoints to improve security. This update may require changes to your automations to ensure continued functionality.

SaaS users: The endpoints are deprecated and will be removed on 30 January 2027, after which they will no longer be usable.
Self-Managed users:
- In the January Self-Managed Artifactory version, the endpoints will be disabled via a feature flag. This extends a grace period of 90 days for you to complete the migration to the new endpoints.
- In the April Self-Managed Artifactory version, the endpoints will be removed and will no longer be usable.
The following endpoints are affected:
Artifact Sync Download REST API Deprecation
The Artifactory Artifact Sync Download REST API is being deprecated and replaced with the Retrieve Artifact REST API, which might require changes to your automations. For more information, see Deprecated JFrog APIs.
SaaS users: This endpoint will reach end-of-life on 26 April 2028. On that date, it will be disabled by default.
Self-Managed users: In the April 2028 Self-Managed minor Artifactory version, this endpoint will be disabled by default.
Warning
As of 1 September 2025, Composer 1.x is deprecated on Packagist. Artifactory will deprecate support for Composer 1.x in December 2026, including version 1.x of the /p API and V1 indexing for local repositories. Upgrade to Composer 2.0 to make sure your repositories continue to work as expected. For more information, see the Packagist blog post Packagist deprecation notice for Composer 1.x support.
Warning
As of June 2026, the Hugging Face repository layout will be deprecated. All new local and remote Hugging Face repositories use the new Machine Learning repository layout by default. Any older repositories must be migrated before June 2026 to preserve complete functionality. For more information, see Migrate Legacy Hugging Face Repositories.
Warning
Starting July 2025, you will only be able to configure CocoaPods repositories using CocoaPods CDN, and the use of the
cocoapods-artplugin will be deprecated. For more information, see Deprecations in Process.
Warning
As notified in Artifactory 7.47.10, the API key has reached End of Life at the end of Q4, 2024. The ability to create new API keys has been disabled as of Artifactory version 7.98. For more information, see JFrog API Key Deprecation Process.
To ease the migration to reference tokens, which replace the API Key, control has been shifted to you.
- For SaaS users, starting from Artifactory version 7.107.1, the JFrog Platform UI includes a checkbox allowing you to control the API usage deprecation. API Key Deprecation Control

Warning
Starting at the end of Q2, 2024, Cargo indexing will only be enabled using Sparse indexing, and the use of Git indexing will be discontinued. For more information, see Deprecations in Process.
Warning
From 1 November 2024, Artifactory will use Helm Relative URL for indexing Helm Chart responses by default.
Since this feature is only supported by Helm clients V3 and above, you must upgrade if you use Helm client V2.
From 1 January 2025, Artifactory will use Helm client V3 by default, and remove support for all Helm client versions under 3.0.0.

In Artifactory 7.90.5, Archive Search (also known as Archive Indexing) was completely deprecated. For more information, see Artifactory Archive Search deprecation.
Warning
The Jira Cloud application integration has been deprecated, reaching end of life on 8 September 2026. JFrog recommends using JFrog Webhooks to send Jira notifications. For more information, see Custom Webhooks.
