Important Changes
Chocolatey Metadata Retrieval Cache Period Changes
As of Artifactory version 7.153.2, NuGet remote repositories that proxy
community.chocolatey.orghave an enforced minimum Metadata Cache Retrieval Period of four hours (14400 seconds). This change aligns with Chocolately configuration recommendations.
Upcoming Changes to Metadata Cache Retrieval Period
On Artifactory SaaS, remote repositories will have a minimum Metadata Retrieval Cache Period of 30 seconds. Smart remote repositories are exempt from the minimum and may have a value lower than 30 seconds.
The enforced minimum maintains stability, optimizes load, and supports consistent service availability for Agentic workflows.
- Before you upgrade to Artifactory version 7.98.7 and above, see Artifactory Self-Managed Releases. Recent self-managed Artifactory versions contain important changes to authentication.
