Builds Security Overview

Learn how the Builds Security Overview in Xray tracks issues across build versions.

The Builds Security Overview dashboard in JFrog Xray gives you one view of build versions, the security issues Xray detects, and how those issues change. This feature allows you to aggregate and display security issues across different build versions, gain insights into security trends and vulnerabilities, and
prioritize issues for effective remediation. You can analyze trends, identify the most vulnerable components, and reduce security risk.

Dashboard Overview

The dashboard centralizes security data across build versions, providing an at-a-glance summary of critical issues and trends.

Trend Visualization:
- Interactive stacked bar chart displays issues across build versions.
- Highlights increases and decreases in issue counts.
- Hover tooltips show version-specific details.
Data Filtering Options:
- Filter by issue types, including:
  - Active Violations: Security, license, and operational risks.
  - CVEs: Categorized by severity: Critical, High, Medium, and Low.
  - Secrets: Hardcoded credentials and similar vulnerabilities.
- Apply criticality filters, for example Critical or High, for targeted insights.
- Filter by using a selected date range to focus on specific time periods and display vulnerabilities within that range only.
Real-Time Updates: The graph dynamically adjusts based on selected filters.

Recurring Issues Tab

This tab identifies recurring issues across build versions.
Sorting options:
- By severity, with Critical first.
- By applicability.
- By recurrence duration.

New Issues Tab

This tab lists vulnerabilities that appear only in the selected build version.
You can sort the list by criticality and applicability.

Resolved Tab

This tab lists vulnerabilities that are resolved in the selected version.

Use the Builds Security Overview

You can open the dashboard for a build and move through its chart and tabs.

Access Build Security Overview

Open the dashboard for one build.

To access Build Security Overview:

Navigate to Xray > Scans List.
Select the Builds tab.
Select a specific build.
View the Overview tab for detailed security information.

Dashboard Navigation

Use filtering options to customize views.
Click a bar in the chart to see security details for that version.
Switch between the Overview and Versions tabs for a broader or more detailed perspective.
