Custom Software Licenses
Manage custom software licenses in Xray and assign them to components.
JFrog Xray License Management lists open source licenses and shows which scanned artifacts use each license. You can also create custom licenses and assign them to components. JFrog Catalog manages these licenses centrally, and they appear in a generated software bill of materials (SBOM).
Note
JFrog Catalog manages custom licenses centrally. A custom license can include the full license text, categories, and an expiration date. JFrog Curation and Xray policies enforce these licenses. They also appear in a generated SBOM. For more information, see Create and Assign Custom Licenses.
View Compliance Licenses
The Administration module lists the available licenses.
To view compliance licenses:
- In the Administration module, go to Xray > Advanced > Manage Compliance Licenses.
Create and Edit Custom Licenses
In Manage Licenses, you can create a custom license and assign it to components.
To create a custom license:
- Click Add a License.
The Add a License form includes the following fields.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| License Name | The abbreviated license name. |
| License Full Name | The full license name. |
| Description | A description of the license. |
| References | A list of fully qualified references to components that use this license. |
| Aliases | A list of aliases for the license. An alias must be unique. You can't reuse it on this license or another license. |
