Quick Start

The extension scans the open solution with JFrog Xray. It uses a bundled JFrog CLI binary. You don't install JFrog CLI separately.

Prerequisite: Restore NuGet packages, or, in Visual Studio 2022, run npm install so a package-lock.json file exists, depending on the project type.

To run your first scan:

  1. Open a solution in Visual Studio. Use a NuGet solution in Visual Studio 2017 or 2019. Use a NuGet or npm solution in Visual Studio 2022.
  2. Go to View > Other Windows > JFrog. The JFrog window opens.
  3. Click Refresh in the JFrog window to scan.

The component tree in the JFrog window updates with scanned dependencies.
