Subscription Information

JFrog MCP Server on SaaS is available for all subscription levels. MCP tools related to Curation and Catalog require a Unified Security or Ultimate Security subscription.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) connects AI systems with external tools, data, and services using a standardized, lightweight interface. MCP simplifies AI integration, reduces engineering overhead, and supports scalable, cross-platform automation.

The JFrog MCP Server is a remote MCP server that integrates with MCP clients hosted by IDEs and AI coding assistants such as VS Code, Cursor, Claude, Kiro, and Codex. The JFrog MCP Server provides structured configuration and usage information that is used to respond to AI queries. This improves and enriches responses to JFrog-related queries.

The JFrog MCP Server is maintained on the JFrog SaaS, and the tools it provides to the client are constantly updated. This remote server implementation means that no installation or upgrade is required after you enable the JFrog MCP Server.

JFrog MCP Server provides a core set of tools that let you use AI to optimize the following tasks:

  • Create and view projects, repositories, and other JFrog components.
  • Poll JFrog for detailed information on package status, including vulnerability status of open-source packages.
  • Review the components currently in use in your organization.

Additional tools and capabilities will be added to the JFrog MCP Server on an ongoing basis. For the full tool reference, see JFrog MCP Server Tools.
