Upload and Download Packages using Artifactory
Upload and download packages in Artifactory from your client or the UI.
Once you have installed JFrog Artifactory and set up package management, you can upload and download packages using your package client's native push and pull functionality.

Uploading Packages
You can upload packages to Artifactory using your package manager's native push functionality, or manually on the Artifacts page. For more information, see Deploy Artifacts.
The following notes explain when Artifactory treats an uploaded file as an artifact or a package.
| What you upload | How Artifactory treats it |
|---|---|
| A file in a Generic repository | Artifactory keeps it as an artifact. |
| A package file in a repository of the same package type | Artifactory indexes it as a package. |
| A package with multiple artifacts, such as a Docker image | Deploying it with your package manager client lets Artifactory assemble the package. |
Download Packages Manually
In addition to your package manager's native pull functionality, you can manually download packages from Artifactory on the Artifacts page.
To download a package using the JFrog UI:

On the Application module, go to Artifactory > Artifacts.

Navigate to the desired repository and then locate the desired package version.

To download the package, do one of the following:
- Right-click the package version, and then click Download.
- Click the package, and then click the Download icon.
